Burnt Offering derives its name from a practice of ancient Hebrew sacrificial rites, whereby an unblemished male bull, sheep, goat or dove would be presented to temple priests as an offering to god. The animal’s body would be burnt on the temple altar, while its skin would be kept as a gift to the priests, who would make of it clothing for themselves. Thus, the skin of a perfect male animal came to clothe the keepers of the temple.
At Burnt Offering, we try to make the world a more interesting place through design with appeal to both the brain and the body.
Burnt Offering is a Toronto based alternative menswear and accessories line, made for those who appreciate clothes that don't simply mirror current trends; designs that allow men to express their individual style through artfully tailored garments, executed in beautiful, unusual fabrics.
Our approach to design is eccentric. Our clothing can be too. We think this is a good thing.
